Consultations

The PCT is committed to engage with people regarding any proposed changes to service provision as identified in the :

  1. PCT’s Strategic Objective 27 ‘To involve patients and the public in the design, development, improvement and monitoring of services through consultation and effective feedback’ and the
  2. Reference Point objective 17 of the Clinical Governance development plan ‘ The views of patients , their carers and others are sought and taken into account in designing, planning, delivering and improving health care services’

Different ways are used to communicate with individuals groups in compliance with the guidance document

  1. Strengthening Accountability - Involving Patients and the Public – Section11 of the Health and Social Care act 2001

The Consultation Making it Better- Making it Real for Children, Young People, Parents and Babies in Greater Manchester , East Cheshire , High Peak and Rossendale under the leadership of the Strategic Health Authority, closed on Friday 5 th May 2006 . The Implementaion stage has now commenced and the public will be involved with regard to information and activities.

Views were initially collected from a wide range of groups and individuals during a pre-consultation exercise which informed the decision making and writing of the formal consultation document.

During the Formal Consultation phase the groups were re-visited to share the options developed using this information .

Further views were collected from a wide range of other interested groups in Stockport and the consultation culminated in a Network Evening. People were also asked to respond directly to the SHA on line or by using the proformas held with in the documents.

The decisions and outcome document will be accessible form this site when it is published.
